Car Key Through Insurance

If you have lost your key or need a spare, your comprehensive car insurance (kasko) may cover the cost. Many kasko policies include key cover.

How much does kasko cover?

If your kasko includes key cover, it pays up to the amount written in your policy. The amount and the conditions differ from policy to policy.

Check your policy, or call your insurance company or agent and ask. They are the best source for whether your policy covers keys and under what conditions.

How do I get it done?

We issue an invoice for key work covered by kasko. Who applies to the insurer depends on the insurance company’s procedure: sometimes the customer applies and forwards the invoice, sometimes we provide the documents needed. First, check whether your policy includes cover for lost or replacement keys. To make the key, we ask for the car’s registration and your ID.
