Key Shell Replacement
We replace a worn, broken or button-damaged key shell with a new one.
We replace a worn, broken or button-damaged key shell with a new one. The electronic board from the old shell goes into the new one, so you do not need to have the key made again.
A key shell wears out over time, breaks, or its buttons stop working. When the shell is damaged, the electronics inside can be damaged too, so it is important to replace the shell in time.
How is the shell replaced?
We take the electronic board out of the old shell and put it into the new key shell. This way you can keep using your key in a new shell, without having to have the key made again from scratch.
When do you need it?
- The shell is cracked or broken,
- The buttons are hard to press or do not work,
- The plastic is worn and has lost its shape.
Plastic shells exposed to heat can melt and ruin the key, so avoid leaving your key inside the car in the heat.
